Fun Week – what is it?

This is an annual event which is run in the first week of Surrey County Council’s school holiday. A Bible based theme runs through the week with a morning service and group activities reflecting this where children can take part in many different crafts, games and activities organised for them in their own school year based group. Each of the 5 days there is a daily morning service packed with music, songs, prayer, a talk given by one of the Banstead Five Clergy and a really enjoyable drama performed by some of our enthusiastic teenagers. On Thursday there is a party/disco for Infant School children and later a disco for Junior School and year 7 youngsters. Fun is had, friendships are made and developed all whilst we learn more about Jesus, God and the bible. What better way to start the school holidays!

Who is it for?

It is for children in Reception classes up until year 7 and run by adult and teenage volunteers. Fun Week is organised by a group of dedicated volunteers from across the Banstead Five Churches, all adults have had DBS checks.

Where is it?

Mornings are based at the Banstead Methodist Church, The Drive, Banstead, Surrey SM7 1DA There are some morning groups located in the Scout Hut (behind the Methodist Church) and the Guide Hall (older age groups) which is a couple of buildings down the road from the Methodist Church.

Registration and costs

Registration takes place on Registration Day 18th March 2018 (see registration flyer for full details), either on-line or in person at the Open Door Café, Banstead High Street, SM7 2NG.

The cost of registering your child is £25, this is an increased cost this year. In previous years we have been extremely fortunate with equipment and resources that have been available to Banstead 5 Churches Holiday Fun Week, due to circumstances we are now not in this position and have to hire expensive equipment to enable the week to take place at the same high standards.

A new Regulation comes into force from 25th May regarding the use and secure storage of Personal Data. This is an update of the previous Data Protection Act and requires even small organisations such as Banstead Five Churches (B5) to show that we handle information about you correctly and securely. The new regulation is called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The data that we hold is only that which is provided as part of the registration Process. We use your personal data to administer and manage Holiday Fun Week and to be able to contact you.

We need your consent to hold and use your personal data in this way. A copy of our latest full statement of policy is on the B5 website banstead5.org.uk.
